Question by ray: I want to step up my home security.Where shall I start?
I have a low picket fence overlooking a road in a residential area. The crime in the area is on the increase. I want to do something for complete peace of mind. I’m even willing to take drastic measures (electric fence, cameras, barbed wire, high wall etc).

I would consider the electric fence or barbwire i know you already suggested that to yourself but i am encouraging you too!!

Look into a home security system. Most of them are pretty inexpensive these days, and I think a lot of insurance companies will even discount your homeowner’s policy if you have a system.
There are a lot of excellent companies out there, but I like Monitronics. I think they have services starting at around $32 / month.
