Question by college student: Is there any way to set up a built in web cam as a security camera?
I don’t want it to look like the computer is on if possible.

You cant use a web cam for security.

They are low resolution
Large file size
Slow streaming
no watermarking Technology (images wont hold up in court)

Go with an economical DVR I suggest the AVP-4120 by Ascendent

Question by aegrotatio: What model of CCTV camera system comes with ADT security systems?
There are lots of consumer DVR CCTV camera systems and most of them come from the same blueprints and lousy software and cheap hardware.
What does ADT use when they install a security system with CCTV cameras?

Question by Christian T: can I use my Web Cam as a security camera?
Is there a program i can use to have my web cam act as a security camera so when I leave i wont worry about my stuff . I live in a dorm and dont really trust the people around me in the building so I just want to be able to have a safety net just in case something goes missing from my room.
