Are you forwarding a port to your router?

Question by bggraves4000: What software can I use to view my surveillance camera on my computer / record it?
What software can I use to view my surveillance camera on my computer / record it? I have a Swan SWADS-100CAM and it has composite video connections. I’m not looking for billion dollar software but something I can hook up to my computer and maybe software to record based on motion detection. The only thing I can find on Google are Webcams.
I tried D-Link but the only thing I can find are software for D-Link network cameras.

Go to the Dlink site and see if they offer anything. I had a dlink security camera few years ago and the software that came with it would allow an insane number of cameras to be monitored.

Question by mading6: Wireless SOLAR outdoor surveillance cameras?
I just purchased wireless outdoor surveillance camera for my house. It is and is not wireless meaning the camera needs a power source. I would like to install 4 video cameras around my house and want to use a SOLAR power device.
Also (please) a SOLAR power device that would generate enough energy to 4 surveillance cameras.
Any suggestions?

And do not say DUH, I am new to this.

Those cams have high/constant demand for uninterrupted power, and solar is unreliable to deliver constant direct powering. I think you’ll prolly end up powering the cameras by batteries that are in turn, kept charged via nearby solar cells. Even better and more reliable is to run low-voltage hardwiring to each camera location from a central power source, such as a120AC/DC transformer. Then use solar to heat water, or power low-voltage lighting.
Good Luck!
